The owner of the Los Angeles Lakers isn't happy that the team isn't in the playoffs, and she has gotten input from some familiar faces, including Phil Jackson and Magic Johnson.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Buss said he would look at everything if the Lakers weren't living up to their standards.

The Lakers, who had the NBA's fourth-highest payroll, fired their coach after they missed the playoffs. Sources told ESPN last week that Buss, Jackson and Kurt Rambis are involved in the search for a new coach, even though Rob Pelinka is the point man.

Jackson won five of his 11 NBA titles with the Lakers. He is a former boyfriend of Buss.

Buss told the LA Times that they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it is not romantic.

The legendary Hall of Fame player who stepped down as Lakers president in the middle of insinuations of backstabbing has had Buss' ear.

Buss told the LA Times that she was relying on Johnson's advice again.

The Lakers are important to him and he wants them to win, and he wants the Lakers to be on top, according to Buss.

Buss wants to know if James is happy enough to stay with the Lakers moving forward.

Buss told the LA Times that it was normal to bounce things off of a top player.

Buss made it clear that the Lakers are still her team.

Do they have final say? No, Buss said when asked if they were running the team. Not at all. I own the Los Angeles Lakers. I am held accountable for every decision made here.

Pelinka has been with the team since the beginning.

Buss told the LA Times that he has complete confidence in the front office headed by Rob Pelinka. I have complete confidence that he can put together a roster and find a coach that will get us back to where we belong.
