Josh Lambo filed a lawsuit against the team on Tuesday, claiming that former head coach Urban Meyer created a hostile work environment and is seeking more than $3.5 million in lost salary and additional damages.

Lambo's performance suffered after he was abused by Meyer according to the lawsuit. It also claims that Meyer threatened to release Lambo after Lambo spoke up in his defense and that an employer striking an employee and threatening to do so again in retaliation is illegal in Florida.

When contacted, the Jaguars referred to a statement they released in December, shortly after Lambo's allegations became public, and responded immediately to the query made by Josh Lambo's agent. Counsel offered to speak with Josh, or to assist Josh in speaking with any football personnel, if he was comfortable with her sharing the information. Any suggestion otherwise is false.

Lambo claimed that Meyer kicked him in the leg while he was stretching before a preseason game. Lambo said Meyer kicked him in the leg. Lambo characterized the kick as a five out of 10 and then told the newspaper that Meyer told him not to kick him again. I will kick you whenever I want.

The lawsuit claims that Lambo told his agent about the incident and that he notified the legal counsel the next day.

Lambo missed two kicks in the preseason but made both of his field goal attempts against Dallas. Lambo missed all three of his field goal attempts in the first two games of the season.

Lambo missed two PATs against Arizona in Week 3, while Matt Wright was the kicker. He kicked a 54-yard field goal with 3:45 remaining and a 53-yard field goal as time expired to give the Jaguars a 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins in London. It was the second-longest losing streak in the history of the NFL.

Lambo was released by the Jaguars.

According to the Times, the lawsuit claims the physical and verbal abuse impacted Lambo's ability to sleep and perform his job the way he had in the past. Lambo was cut by the San Diego Chargers before the season started after making 81.3% of his field goal attempts. Lambo made 98% of his field goal attempts through the 2020 season, including going 12-for-13 from 50 yards and beyond.

Lambo was placed on injured reserve with a hip injury after only four games in 2020. The Jaguars used six kickers in 2020 to replace Lambo, and one of them was Aldrick Rosas, who was released on July 30.

Lambo is the most accurate kicker in the history of the Jaguars, and he holds team records for most consecutive field goals and longest field goal.

Lambo is seeking a jury trial and wants to be paid back pay from his 2021 salary as well as compensation for emotional stress, harm to his reputation and legal fees, according to the lawsuit. Lambo was going to earn $3.5 million in 2021 and was going to be a vested veteran with more than four years of experience. Lambo was going to make $4 million with theJaguars.

Lambo was a member of the practice squad of the PittsburghSteelers last season and earned over $13,000. Meyer was fired by the Jaguars at 1 a.m. After just 13 games. The Associated Press reported that Khan made the decision to fire Meyer in the hours after the 20-0 loss to Tennessee.
