Bill Gates said that he had tested positive for the disease.

The 66-year-old tech giant wrote in a tweet Tuesday that he is experiencing mild symptoms and is following the experts advice by isolating himself until he is healthy.

Gates has access to testing and great medical care, he said.

I've tested positive for COVID. I'm experiencing mild symptoms and am following the experts' advice by isolating until I'm healthy again.

Gates said the foundation would meet for the first time in two years. Gates thanks the foundation for its hard work and will join via Microsoft Teams.

We will continue working with partners and do all we can to make sure we don't have to deal with a Pandemic again.

In 2015, Gates gave a talk about the world not being prepared for a global Pandemic.

Gates said there was no need to panic.

Gates gave the U.S. high marks for its social distancing efforts but low marks for testing in a conversation with Ari Shapiro in 2020.

Gates told NPR that the diagnostics had been available in a month and the vaccine in less than a year.
