There is a warning for Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 10.

We are here. The second season of Star Trek: Picard ends after nine weeks. We spoke last week about how the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard was not a continuation of the events unfolding before us now and that left quite a lot to be wrapped up.

Sadly, most of the story threads ended in a way that was exactly what we were expecting, but we can guarantee no one saw it coming. It is still better than the first season finale. You can check out our Star Trek streaming guide to catch up on the season finale and be ready for the third season.

The peppy band of timeline polluters at Picard pondered their next move after the events of last week, and they are right back where they left off. But not for a while.

After a super-speedy conference, they beam back to their apartment, grab some gear, and she and Jean-Luc beam to the launch site of the Europa mission to prevent the presumed attack on Ren.

One of the plot threads that we fully anticipate to be tied up is the relationship between Jean-Luc and Orla Brady. Jean-Luc can resolve his issues with former and transfer his feelings over to the latter with relative ease since the two are similar in appearance and attitude.

The rest of the gang, Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Raffi, and Crist, were able to track Jurati before she stole La Sirena. Uh oh. They found his plan B for preventing the launch, which was basically a drone attack. One of the weakest elements in this season finale is the beginning. It also provides a clock for the Picard sub-plot.

She enters the building in a stolen uniform and is forced to confront Ren. The Borg Queen foretold that there must be two Renes, and it was fulfilled. Soong is at the site and getting into a rage about not being allowed into the complex despite being a very generous donor. Soong has been making generous donations to people. He was able to catch up with Ren and poison her with a nice, peel-away skin transplant from his hand.

The Picard Season 3 cast announcement includes many familiar names.

It isn't Ren, it's Tallinn, who has expanded the operational area of her ear-camouflaging, holographic cloaking device to now encompass her whole face. Yeah, and the drones have been destroyed.

Project Khan must already be on progress, but shouldn't he have fled Earth by now on the Botany Bay?

The dialogue between Jean-Luc and the dying Romulan is very good and the pacing is good. There have been no surprises so far. The mission is a success and the authoritarian future has been prevented. All of Soong's work is deleted by Kore who hacks in remotely. He gulped down a whiskey and reached into a drawer to pull out a file labeled "Project Khan", which was dated 1996.

This is a direct reference to Khan Noonien Singh, who was played by Ricardo Montalb in the first two episodes of The Original Series. The less said about the movie, the better. Khan was the ruler of more than one-quarter of Earth, from Asia to the Middle East.

In Star Trek's history, the tyrants began fighting in the late 1990s. The Eugenics Wars were a series of struggles in which other nations joined to force them from power. Much of this story was well told in the Season 4 three-part augmentation of the story.

Most of the super humans were defeated and their territory was regained, but 90 were never accounted for. They escaped and stole the ship that was named after Khan. Khan and his people remained in suspended animation until they were discovered in deep space by Captain Kirk some 270 years later.

Since it has been decided that one of the bridge crew is Khan, it becomes clear that this is more of a set up for Strange New Worlds. It's not clear how this will be incorporated into the fabric of space and time. Maybe it won't be.

The biggest twist came after that. Kore has been sitting in a library and hacking into her father&s work. After completing her task and exacting her revenge, she casually makes her way outside into the late afternoon sunshine where she is greeted by a bunch of people. The man is a grinder.

And why not. Everyone else should have all the cash fun since Wil Wheaton is cashing in on some Paramount-paid nostalgia.

Here is what we know. In The Next Generation episode, where no one has gone before, experimental engine modifications throw the Enterprise to the edge of the known universe. A mysterious alien, known as the Traveler from another plane of existence, is making his way through our galaxy, peacefully observing all life forms. He was able to get passage on different starships by disguising himself as a human. The Traveler and Wesley became good friends during this escapade.

Seven years later, a cadet resigns from the academy after posing as a villager on Dorvan V in a vision of his dead father. Here is our take on the best Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes.

The Traveler is going to mentor him as he begins his journey. In Star Trek: Nemesis, he attends the marriage of William Riker and Deanna Troi in a lieutenant junior grade dress uniform, suggesting that he had become a Starfleet officer at some point. Regardless of how the Star Trek canon chooses to interpret all of this,Wesley approaches Kore and explains how he can guide her. Wes says that the Travelers are behind the supervisors.

There are two paths before you. A perfectly normal life is the result of the first one. The second path leads to everything else. It works because without any real hesitation, she joins him, and it offers a chance to give your life purpose and meaning. We won't see her in Season 3 because she posted that her involvement with Picard was over.

We can check that box now because Seven and Raffi finally get their act together, share their feelings for each other and kiss. The events of the last 10 episodes are explained nicely in the book, and the performances from de Lancie are outstanding.

The Borg were facing an extinction level event and so called for Jean-Luc. In the very first episode of this second season, Jean-Luc tried to destroy the Stargazer, but the Borg Queen was already there. Q does his thing and the cast is transported to an alternate history. It's crucial that they can pick up the actual Borg Queen who helps La Sirena Six navigate back to 2024 but also that they have to be present to fulfill the time loop.

The importance placed on the mission is to prevent Dr. Soong from offering a solution to the world's problems and thus creating an authoritarian state. They found a way to heal the ocean and clean the sky using an alien organism that Ren discovered during the Europa Mission.

Q gave Jean-Luc his final gift before he died. It is not like Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes or All Good Things. It is possible to change the future by not destroying the Stargazer, saving the galaxy one more time and establishing a line of communication to the Borg. Q makes sure that this happens and maybe it was all meant to happen. Maybe he should have worked with the Travelers.

The important thing is that this was delivered effectively. If Q had explained his plan, Jean-Luc wouldn't have had to fight in the vineyard. We are given enough for both of us, the viewers and Jean-Luc to work out for ourselves. It has been speculated on social media that the All New Improved Borg could be the ones who find and repair V&ger.

We saw in Star Trek IV that the Kaplan F17 Speed Freighter was more maneuverable than the Romulan Bird-of-Prey. In under 377 years, would Queen Agnes have reached the Borg? Taking the projected journey time back to the Alpha Quadrant of 23 years, give or take, then yes. The events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture take place in 2270, so that leaves about 246 years for Voyager 6 to fall into a black hole and emerge on the far side of the galaxy.

Rios declared he was staying at Picard, and Q said his final farewell, which was rather emotional, and was in contrast to how he was behaving at the beginning. We were taken back to the bridge of the Stargazer just moments before the self destruct finished. Jean-Luc cancels the order.

We have to discover what this was all about. It seems like it is agalactic event, like a gamma ray burst or a supernova. We fully understand that these things happen. The jury is still out on triquantum waves. If this hadn't been part of the last two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, it would be a novelty.

I believe we have just witnessed the creation of a transwarp conduit, but unlike any I have ever seen before, says Seven.

"But…created by who?" Asks a puzzled Jean-Luc. "Even with our collective knowledge, that answer remains elusive," Queen Agnes responds, with little sign of any emotion. "But you know more…" Jean-Luc insists.

"What you see is a piece of the puzzle whose final image is unclear, but is tied to a threat. One which requires close observation. We request provisional membership in the Federation so that we may remain here, a guardian at the gates," Queen Agnes replies, this time perhaps showing the smallest of signs of the former doctor's personality.

After getting his new synthetic body replacement at the end of last season, Jean-Luc cannot hear the Borg anymore, so he relies on Seven when he needs to.

The second season of Picard is an inadequate, unsatisfying ending that links to events in the Star Trek spin-off show that is aimed at children.

Once this is solved, the Borg will harmonize the fleet's shields with their own and there will be a huge spike in emissions from the center of the quadrant. Queen Agnes, who seems to have taken some fashion advice from David Warner's character in Time Bandits, goes back to the Borg fleet and the impressive gathering of Federation starships.

In a bar fight, Teresa died of old age and Rios was slightly younger. The best new character given to us from this show will no longer be with us. Jean-Luc tells Laris how he really feels about her.

It is a mixed bag. It is better than the first season, but perhaps it will fare better upon a more short rewatch. Q's performance and dialogue was the highlight, even if it was in stark contrast to his earlier behavior. When you muck about with the timelines, there are questions that remain unanswered. What happened to former FBI Agent Wells? Is he gone now that Q did his thing?

A very generous rating of 6.

The entire second season of Star Trek: Picard is now available to watch on Paramount Plus as is the first episode of Strange New Worlds. Outside of North America, the Pluto TVSci-fi channel is available.

The Sky Cinema subscription for the UK cable provider will be included in the price of Paramount's streaming platform, which will launch in the UK and Ireland on June 22.
