The Celebrity Beyond will be christened at a ceremony in Fort Lauderdale in November.
Beyond performing the traditional naming of the Beyond, Biles will also have a presence on Celebrity sailings by offering daily tips broadcast on televisions across the fleet. The brand will benefit from the partnership with Biles.
The line seeks to name women who are transformational and courageous, who are breaking barriers and advocating change.
While she is considered one of the most accomplished gymnasts of all time, she has also been in the spotlight for other reasons, including her decision to withdraw from the competition at the Tokyo Olympics to focus on her mental wellbeing.
While I have marveled at her abilities and historic accomplishments as a gymnast, it's Simone's courage to speak out and her ability to help others be better in sport and life that has impressed me the most. She is an inspiration.
As a child, Biles was a cruiser. She began sailing with her parents and is excited to serve as a celebrity beyond.
I am honored to join such a distinguished group of game-changing women and appreciate the important message this designation holds in recognizing our accomplishments and hopefully inspiriting the next generation of women.
The Beyond will sail 10-night itineraries in the Mediterranean during the summer. The ship will sail to Fort Lauderdale in November for the official naming and will sail five to nine days in the Caribbean.
