  • Elon Musk says he does not believe it was a good decision to ban Donald Trump from Twitter.
  • He says that he would reverse the ban, likely once his purchase of Twitter is finalized.

Musk said that he would reverse the ban and that it was a mistake.

During an automotive conference on Tuesday, Musk said that it was not correct to ban Donald Trump.

Donald Trump created the Truth Social platform after being removed from other social media sites. He was permanently banned from the social networking site out of fear that he could cause more violence.

Free speech and the role that social media can play to encourage it has been a point of contention for Musk. He has previously stated that he does not like permanent bans and that they should be something of a last resort.

Musk said during an interview in April that he thinks we want to be very cautious with permanent bans.

Musk is still in the process of purchasing the company, and the deal may close in a few months.

A person who works for the company declined to comment on Musk's remarks.

Donald Trump may not want to return to the platform now that he has his own social media platform to focus on.
