If Musk succeeds in buying the company, he will reverse the ban on Donald Trump from the platform.

The richest man in the world agreed to take over the micro-blogging site.

He said that it was not a done deal and that it would be completed in the next two to three months.

Mr Musk told the Financial Times Future of the Car summit that the decision to ban the former US president was morally wrong and stupid.

Following the storming of the Capitol, the former US president's account was permanently suspended on January 31, 2021.

The owner of the electric car company told the Financial Times that he wouldn't reverse the permanent ban, but that he didn't own the micro-messaging service yet.

The banning of Donald Trump didn't end his voice. He said it would amplify it among the right.

Mr Musk said banning Mr Trump was a morally bad decision.

He pointed out that Mr Trump had previously said he wouldn't return to the social media platform.

Mr Musk said that he had spoken to Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of the micro-messaging service, about locking users out of their accounts in response to offensive posts.

He and I agree that permanent bans should be rare and reserved for accounts that are bots or scam accounts.

I don't think it was correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake because it made Donald Trump not have a voice in the country.

Mr Musk said that if a person posts something that is illegal or destructive to the world, there should be a temporary suspension or the post should be made invisible.

Mr Musk said he wanted to build more trust by asking people to make suggestions on how to improve the service.

He said the company needed to be more even-handed because of its origins in the San Francisco tech community.

He said that victory would be for the far right 10% and the far left 10% would be upset.

Speaking via video link, the CEO of the company said that the goal of making 20 million electric vehicles by 2030 was not a promise.

He said he was confident that they would be able to sell all the cars they could make.

The lead time is ridiculously long, so our issue is not demand, it is production.

Mr Musk said that the company could stop taking orders after a certain period of time.
