The video game company is ending its partnership with the game.

The company said that it will launch in July of 2023.

The executive vice president of the company said in the press release.

"EA SPORTS FC will allow us to realize this future and much more…but not before we deliver our most expansive game ever with our current naming rights partner, FIFA, for one more year. We are committed to ensuring the next FIFA is our best ever, with more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any FIFA title before."

The New York Times reported that the licensing agreement between the two sports companies had broken down.

At least double the $150 million annual payment it received fromEA Sports, was the goal of FIFA. Different expectations of what should be included in a new agreement were mentioned in the report.

The relationship may have been more beneficial to the game than it was to the company.

Peter Moore, who was the chief operating officer for Electronic Arts, told Cecilia D'Anastasio in November that it was time to say goodbye to the game.

The situation isn't close to how the annual golf game took a nosedive when the series distanced itself from Tiger Woods.

Despite losing an official partner, the authenticity of the game will not be sacrificed. Licensing deals with the competition will not be affected by the rebrand.

The series has grown. There were 9.1 million players as of last October.

When e Football 2022, one of the biggest competitors, flopped badly at launch, the game's primacy was further solidified. If the sporting organization wants to help create a new video game series or piggyback on one already in existence, it will have a hard time.
