The brand explorer perk is one of the perks of the World of Hyatt program. Hyatt has many different hotel brands and the brand explorer encourages you to try them all. If you check 5 unique brands off the list, you will get a category 1-4 free night certificate. You could earn up to 2 free night certificates when this perk first launched. The number was bumped to 3 after a few Hyatt hotel purchases. I can confirm that it is now possible to earn 5 free night certificates with the Hyatt brand explorer perk.
The list of Hyatt brands just hit 26 after yesterday's addition of 52 all inclusive properties. The number of all inclusive properties will likely be increased to 30 in the near future.
The Hyatt brand explorer perk gives you access to the current World of Hyatt hotels. New collection names were rolled out by Hyatt. I don't know what the purpose of it is, but I will break it down by them. I think they win.
I thought it would be hard to earn two free night certificates out of the program when it launched. I think there were 11 brands that needed to be hit back then. Some of the brand's hotels were small. It used to require cash stays for the stay to count towards the perk.
With the explosion of Hyatt options over the last few years, that is no longer the case. It should be easy for people to get two or three extra free night certs by simply staying at a Hyatt hotel.
It is even better if you have a two player system. Whenever we are going to a brand I already have I always Guest of Honor the stay under my wife’s account so she gets the brand credit. If it is a brand neither of us has then we can split the stay between our accounts. That means we can now earn up to 10 free nights between the two of us. Pretty awesome!
