The arrival of Haaland will complete the pursuit of a goal scorer by Guardiola, who failed in his attempt to land Harry Kane.
The Norway international has been one of the most sought-after young players in the world, and City have fought off competition from Real Madrid to sign him.
Haaland scored 41 goals in 41 games last season, when he joined the team from Red Bull Salzburg. He scored 15 goals in 17 games for Norway after making his international debut in 2019. He has scored 36 goals in 34 appearances this season.
Haaland agreed to a release clause in his contract which became active ahead of the summer transfer window, which has left the club resigned to losing him.
Haaland will play for his father at the club. According to sources, Mino Raiola was unwell and that Alfie Haaland played a key role in negotiations with City. Raiola died last month at the age of 54.
