It seemed like the two companies were living in a fantasy world. They'd throw out prices like $329 or $479 for a graphics card, knowing you'd pay hundreds more by the time the middleman got their cut. Today, it seems that the company is waking up.

The company is finally pricing its graphics cards based on the market instead of creating a fake MSRP. If you combine that with the fact that the prices of graphics cards have almost come back down to sane prices in general, there is a chance that you will be able to buy these new ones.

That's good, because price is the most interesting thing about the cards.

The new RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT, and 6650 XT are not like the next-gen RDNA 3 chips that have been rumored. They are not new GPUs at all. They are straight-up refinements of the existing RX 6900XT, 6700XT, and 6600XT, only with a new firmware for faster.

AMD says that the 6900 XT and 6700 XT will be sticking around, but the 6600 XT is being replaced by the 6950 XT.

This isn't going to be a big performance boost, and each card offers a 5 to 6 percent boost over the vanilla version. The difference can be as little as 1 frame per second in some games. You might see a 10 frames per second increase in others that run at high speeds. The bumps don't come for free, as the cards have a 20 to 35W higher TDP than the originals, theoretically drawing more power and generating more heat.

“Nothing physically has changed.”

The company told journalists that these are not going to be major enhancements.

Instead, the company is trying to point out how much more performance you can get compared to the prices you will actually pay for it.

The charts are provided by the company.

If you can actually buy these cards for these prices, it's looking pretty good for the company.

The reference cooler versions of the RX 6950XT and the RX 6750XT are on sale today. The new bundle will include free games with your card purchase.

I think we will get reviews of these cards today. We will update this story if their conclusions are notably different than we expected. Me, I'm going to buy the $580 AMD Radeon RX 6800, which is the best bang for its buck, and which few people ever managed to buy at that price. It's hard to believe that the 6800 will ever see the same price again, even though it will continue to exist.
