Josh Naylor hit a grand slam with two outs in the ninth and a three-run home run in the 11th to lead the Cleveland Guardians to a 12-9 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

In the eighth, he had a run- scoring double and finished with eight RBIs for the Guardians, who stunned Chicago by rallying from an 8-2 deficit in the ninth.

The first player since the stat became official in 1920 to have eight runs in the eighth was Naylor. He became the first player in major league history to hit multiple three-run home runs in a game.

Franmil Reyes said that nothing surprises him what he can do with the bat. A legendary moment.

Giménez led off the ninth with a home run and then doubled home a run in the 10th as the Guardians snapped Chicago's six-game winning streak. They won eight of 10 after a seven-game skid.

It was the first time that Naylor had hit two homers in a game. He is 10-for 17 with runners in scoring position.

The All-Star closer had his first blown save since April 8 when Naylor launched his first career slam.

The go-ahead drive came off Ryan Burr and barely cleared the right-field fence. The 11th was started by Burr in place of Lopez, who left the game with a back problem.

It hurts, and I should have taken care of it. I couldn't get it done because we were one strike away. That is what hurts the most.

He was also remorseful.

He said that it sucks. I was the bug today. I got crushed. It hurts to let this team down.

The win was earned by Clase, who allowed a run in the 10th. Stephan pitched a perfect 11th for his first save of the season.

The White Sox got three-run homers from Sheets and Pollock to build a big lead, and starter Michael Kopech allowed two hits through six. Four errors, which tied a season high, haunted the White Sox.

The first run of the game was scored when Sheets dropped a line drive to right field. Tim Anderson and Yoan Moncada made costly errors in the ninth.

Third baseman Jose Ramirez made a diving stop on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth, and first baseman Josh Naylor made a diving catch to end the game.

His six-inning performance at Detroit tied a career high for him.

Moncada was back in the game and Joe Kelly made his White Sox debut. Moncada had a right oblique strain this season. Kelly was out with a right biceps nerve injury.
