The top football recruit in the class of 2024 has decided.
On Monday, Dylan Raiola, a 5-star quarterback from Arizona, committed to Ohio State over other programs like Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Texas and USC.
Raiola is the first person to commit to Ohio State. He told Ryan Day and the quarterbacks coach that he was going to play for the team in the spring game.
Raiola said that he felt the culture when he walked in the building for the Penn State game. It felt like home to me, and I am ready to be a Buckeye.
Raiola is the son of Dominic Raiola, who played 14 seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and was a Rimington Trophy winner as the nation's top center during his All-American career at Nebraska.
Jon Kitna, a former NFL quarterback who was Raiola's teammate with the Lions, was the head coach at Burleson High School where the younger Raiola played his first two seasons of high school football. Raiola threw for 3,341 yards and 32 touchdown while adding nine rushing scores as a sophomore.
Kitna said that there is not a throw he can't make. He knows how to protect himself. He knows where the run game should be. He is going to be a 4.5 kid at the end of it and will hurt you running with his legs. An incredible deep-ball thrower. That is one of the things that distinguishes him.
