The selling price for the NFL team is going to be quite high.
The Denver Broncos are expected to sell for more than $5 billion, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Previously, it was thought that the team would sell for $4 billion.
The Denver Post reported in February that the Broncos were expected to easily break the current record sale price of $2.35 billion for a US professional sports team.
The record price for an NFL franchise was $2.275 billion for the Carolina Panthers, but the increasing value of television deals and the availability of other revenue streams such as legalized gambling will surely contribute to Denver's sale.
The team narrowed the list of candidates to five investment groups.
The group that includes Josh Harris, the co-governor of Philadelphia, is included in that list. Todd Boehly is an investor in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers.
The other two groups prefer anonymity.
