It's been almost one year since Netflix released the first trailer to its forthcoming documentary Netflix vs. the World.

Slated to release next month, Netflix vs. the World takes an exclusive inside look at how Netflix surpassed its competitors, such as Blockbuster, to become the streaming giant that is is today. The movie will also spotlight the streaming wars Netflix sparked during its rise from humble DVD rental service to streaming juggernaut. Directed by Shawn Cauthen, the documentary will also feature interviews with executives from both Netflix and its former competitor, Blockbuster Online, as well as entertainment industry observers. The lineup of interviewees includes everyone from Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph to former Blockbuster Video executives John Antioco, Nick Shepherd and Shane Evangelist.

Blockbuster had the chance to purchase Netflix in its infancy for $50 million USD and even came close to shutting down the streaming site when it launched its own service in 2007. Netflix is now valued at more than HBO, Warner Bros., and Fox combined.

"This film brilliantly captures the challenges Reed (Hastings) and I faced in trying to teach consumers a new way to enjoy movies and TV shows. It's also a deeply personal story about the courage and ingenuity of the founding team that set Netflix on its path to transforming the entertainment industry," Randolph said in a statement.

Check out the latest trailer for Netflix vs. the World above. The film will debut at the Lone Star Film Festival in Fort Worth, TX on Saturday, November 16.
