According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, SonyMichel will sign a contract with the Miami Dolphins.

The New England Pats selected Michel with the 31st pick in the draft. He led New England in rushing yards and rushing touchdown in each of his first two seasons.

He added 94 rushing yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl LIII, as the Packers defeated the Rams 13-3.

The season sawMichel cross the 1,000-yard mark from scrimmage. The Pats lost to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card Round.

The Georgia product missed seven games in 2020 with a quadriceps injury. He was on the reserve list during his time on IR.

The timing couldn't have been worse for a player who just enjoyed a big game, as he was placed on IR just a day after he had just amassed 140 total yards on just 11 touches in a 36-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

He finished the year with 563 total yards and two scores.

The Pats decided to go in a different direction in the backfield in August of 2021.

The Rams added Darrell Henderson Jr. to a backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson, and the New England rolled with Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson.

A running back room that lost Cam Akers to a torn Achilles in June needed a reinforcement.

The Rams lost Henderson for five games in Week 3 due to ribs, quad and knee injuries.

He finished the year with a team-high 128 receiving yards and a team-high four rushing touchdown.

In the Wild Card Round, he added 58 rushing yards on 13 carries, but he was largely overshadowed by Akers, who returned for the playoffs.

He was limited to 22 rushing yards in the final three games of the Rams' Super Bowl run.

Miami will be his third NFL home in as many years.
