According to local authorities, Adreian Payne, a former first round pick in the NBA draft, was shot and killed in Florida on Monday.

Payne was pronounced dead at the hospital at 31 years old, according to police.

Payne was selected 15th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA draft and played four seasons in the league before moving on to play basketball overseas.
