The New York Times apologized after it included a solution for some players that may have been offensive due to recent political events in the US. The New York Times said that the solution to the daily puzzle was a coincidence.

The company's purchase of Wordle and the leak of a draft decision by the US Supreme Court preceded the selection of the word in the game, according to The Times. When The Times Games team discovered that Monday's puzzle would feature the word fetus, they did their best to change the answer. The Times hopes to avoid a similar situation in the future.

The outlet said that Wordle's technology is being changed so that everyone always gets the same word.
