Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to The Executioner, a project from The Eternals, which is described as a fun action murder mystery in the spirit of Knives Out and The Lord of the Rings. The deadline is Deadline.

The story begins when a mysterious object falls from the sky and smashes through the window of a New York City building. A strange little spider emerges from an egg. Charlotte is a girl who is obsessed with comic books. Charlotte feels isolated despite her stepfather's best efforts to connect with her. Charlotte bonds with the spider because her mother and father are distracted by their new baby. She keeps it as a secret pet. As Charlotte's fascination with Sting increases, so does its size. Sting's appetite for blood grows at a monstrous rate. Pets go missing, and then the neighbors themselves. Charlotte is the only one who knows how to stop the arachnid that traps her family and the eccentric characters of the building.
