Harden's huge night leads 76ers to Game 4 win (2:21)

James Harden had 31 points and nine assists in Philadelphia's Game 4 win and tied the series at two. The song is called "2:21."

12:58 AM ET

James Harden had his best game with the Philadelphia 76ers.

After the 76ers lost the first two games of the series in Miami, Harden poured in 31 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and hit 6 3-pointers to lead the 76ers.

The series is tied 2-2 heading to Miami for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Harden said that they are getting more confident as the series goes on, after he finished the game with 31 points, seven rebound, nine assists and six turnovers in 41 minutes. We know what to expect from our full team, because we have Joel and the others.

We know where to put the ball. It makes the job a lot easier. We are still a fairly new team. We are close to two months. When we finally catch a rhythm and find something that works,Joel goes off for a few games.

We have had some great things that worked tonight and we can take advantage of it in Game 5.

The thing that has worked the best for Philadelphia in its home games is simply making shots. Philadelphia went 16-for-33 from behind the 3-point line in Games 3 and 4 to flip the series.

Harden hit four triples in the fourth quarter to help Philadelphia hold off Miami, which nearly pulled off a win despite its own awful shooting performance.

Harden said that he just took what the defense gave him. Man, nothing really changed. I made some shots. That is a game changing thing. I was just being aggressive.

It was obvious that Harden was aggressive. His 10 3-point attempts were the most he had in these playoffs, and his 18 shot attempts were the second-most he had as a 76ers.

It was enough for Philadelphia to get back level with Miami after another strong game from their star player, as well as 18 points from Tyrese Maxey, in his second game back from the concussion that cost him the first two games of the series.

76ers forward Tobias Harris said they need him to be aggressive. He got going tonight. You can see the confidence in him getting downhill and the three ball opening up for him.

What we need him to do on a nightly basis is what he does. Just be solid for us and be able to pick apart the defense. He sees a lot of defensive coverages. Sometimes it is difficult for him to be aggressive on the offensive end because they zone up the court. When he is in a good mood, we just get him the ball and keep going.

The performance of the 76ers was masked by the heroics of Harden. The 76ers committed 17 turnovers that turned into 24 Miami points, which is how the Heat were able to stay in contact despite the 76ers shooting 54% from the field and against getting hot from 3.

The 76ers were powerless to stop the Miami Hurricanes in the paint, as they had a 48-34 edge in points in the paint.

76ers coach Doc Rivers said that he was tough. I need to watch a film. He was frustrating me tonight. Dan Burke was almost off the cliff.

He made everything. You know what he did tonight? He left a lot. That is something that he has not done in the past. He was tough and he scored on everyone. He was scoring and he didn't care who it was. He is tough.

The 76ers are going to do what Harden said they would when they left the shores of Biscayne Bay: Tie this series up at two games apiece. There is one big difference between Philadelphia and Miami now that it is heading back to Miami.

Rivers said thatJoel would be on the plane.
