'A great feeling' - Lampard joy at Everton win

Mason Holgate has been praised by Frank Lampard for his attitude as they try to avoid being demoted from the premier league.

He insisted on playing despite being unwell.

He arrived at the hotel separately from us because he was sick and couldn't train or travel with us.

He woke up this morning and said he was playing a game.

The attitude will get us through.

The win at King Power Stadium ended a seven-match losing run away from home for the team and also secured back-to-back wins for the first time since September.

The three points took them up to 16th in the table, one point above the two teams they are fighting to stay in.

We are still in a fight for survival. If we want to get out of it, we have to be together as a club.

It is a huge result for confidence. We were five points from safety a week ago and now we are a point safe, but there is more to do.

In the wake of the FA Cup quarter-final loss to Crystal Palace, Lampard questioned whether his players had the right mentality to play for the club.

In-form Pickford 'getting recognition he deserves'

It took more heroics from Pickford in goal to see out the victory.

Pickford produced the save of the season when he denied Cesar Azpilicueta in the win against Chelsea last weekend that kept them in touch.

As the pressure mounted on the goal, the 28-year-old once again rose to the occasion to help his team over the line.

He prevented Mendy's curling shot from finding the top corner with a spectacular leap to his left, and twice saved Barnes.

We need our big players at the moment, according to Lampard.

Moments like Jordan's saves are huge. He did what you need top-level players to do. He is in great shape.

He said that Pickford is getting the recognition he deserves.

At the moment, they all are emotional games, there is so much on the games, but we are fighting together. It is important to enjoy these moments but there is a lot of work to be done.

Next up for the Toffees is a trip to Vicarage Road on Wednesday, followed by home games against Crystal Palace, and then a trip to top-four hopefuls Arsenal.

Pickford said it was about commitment, attitude, and team spirit. That is what gets you over the line.

It feels like forever since we won away from home. To win 2-1 is a great result, but we have to go again on Wednesday.

Holgate said: "Jordan has made a few big saves and he has done that in the past few games." Our big players need to step up.

We have always had the confidence to stay up. We have to keep going until the end of the season.
