Max Verstappen wins the inaugural Miami Grand Prix (0:26)

When you think of Miami, you might think of sunny beaches, neon lights and exciting nightlife experiences. South Beach was the epicenter of action-packed sporting events this past week.

The Miami Heat continued their quest for a Larry O'Brien Trophy in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Florida panthers started their quest for the Stanley Cup against the Washington Caps.

Miami hosted its first Formula One event on Sunday. The new Miami International Autodrome hosted a star- studded crowd as many sports stars mingled with each other before, during and after the race.

Here are some of the best highlights from the week in Miami.

It's Formula One.

A number of celebrities were in Miami before the race started. Tom Brady and Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a round of golf. The seven-time Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile champion finished sixth.

There were other people socializing with sports greats. Pierre Gasly had dinner with Michael Jordan. Jordan co-owns a NASCAR team with Denny Hamlin.

Lando was in the hoops spirit before the race. He had a helmet with his logo and signature on it.

The celebrities were in Miami for the race. Patrick Mahomes posted a picture with David Beckham and Serena Williams, who are now co-owners of Inter Miami.

There was love in the air. A fan proposed to his partner at the Miami Grand Prix. The support from the fan in the background is better than the moment.

The NHL is in Florida.

The Washington Capitals will face the Florida panthers in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The second-highest odds to win the championship on May 2 was given to the panthers, who finished the regular season first in the Eastern Conference. Good-luck wishes were given to the squad by the Heat.

In the first game of the series, the panthers lost 4-2 but rebounded with a win on Thursday. Washington trounced Florida 6-1 in Game 3.

The Miami Heat are in the NBA.

Tyler Herro started the week for the Heat. He received 96 first-place votes and was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. Herro's 20.7 points per game off the bench were the most since Lou Williams had 22.6 points per game when he won the hardware.

Miami led the series 2-0 heading into the weekend, thanks to impactful performances from Herro, Jimmy Butler, and Victor Oladipo. He had a great performance on his 30th birthday on May 4. He scored 19 points in the fourth quarter. P.J. Tucker had a birthday on Thursday and it was a great way to celebrate.

Rodriguez stopped by the court to watch the game. Wade was in attendance for Game 2 after his appearance at the Met Gala. Wade and his family were shouted out by the man.

The Heat still have a 2-1 lead in the series, despite their 99-79 loss to the 76ers on Friday.
