The Washington Capitals will face the Florida panthers in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The second-highest odds to win the championship on May 2 was given to the panthers, who finished the regular season first in the Eastern Conference. In the first game of the series, the panthers lost 4-2 but rebounded with a win on Thursday. Washington trounced Florida 6-1 in Game 3.

Tyler Herro started the week for the Heat. He received 96 first-place votes and was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. Herro's 20.7 points per game off the bench were the most since Lou Williams had 22.6 points per game when he won the hardware.
