The 76ers were fined $50,000 by the NBA for violating injury reporting rules in the lead-up to their Game 3 victory over the Miami Heat.
The NBA said that the 76ers failed to disclose center-forward Joel Embiid's participation status in an accurate and timely manner.
Even after being cleared from the NBA's concussion protocol and participating in the 76ers' morning shootaround, he was still listed as out for Friday's game.
At 12:30 p.m., he was upgraded to doubtful, but he was named to the starting lineup about an hour before the game started.
After missing the first two games of the series because of a facial injury and concussion, the Philadelphia 76ers center finished with 18 points and 11 boards in 36 minutes.
The Phoenix Suns were fined $25,000 by the league last week after they listed Devin Booker as out before he played in the playoffs.
Miami and Philadelphia will play again on Sunday. It is questionable if he will play with his facial injury and thumb injury.
