A panel of glass fell on an off-ice official during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup playoffs in Boston.

The Bruins were leading the Hurricanes, 3-1, in the second period when fans began banging on the glass until it fell on the penalty box attendant. The gentleman fell to the ground and was knocked out cold.

Trainers from both teams came to his aid, and a stretcher was produced to take the attendant to the hospital.

The attendant was moving around as he left the ice. During the lengthy delay of the game, Boston and Carolina players came over to check on him and sent him off with a chorus of stick taps. The game broadcast said his name is Joe.

The Bruins sent a message to the attendant as play resumed.

The Boston Bruins wrote on its account that they were sending their best wishes to the NHL official who was injured.
