Mark Jackson, a long time NBA analyst, is one of the candidates for the head coach position of the Kings.

Jackson was interviewed for the Los Angeles Lakers head coach position, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Jackson was fired as the Golden State Warriors' coach after three seasons. His record was 121-109. Steve Kerr was the head coach of the Warriors when they won the NBA title.

Jackson has the support of the Lakers organization despite being away from the bench. The Athletic's Sam Amick reported last month that if the Lakers hired Jackson he would be very excited.

The search for the Lakers has been slow so far, but it seems to be picking up a bit. Los Angeles also interviewed Terry Stotts, the former head coach of the Portland Trail blazers.

Frank Vogel was fired as the head coach of the Lakers after three years with the team, which began with the NBA title in 2020. Los Angeles had a poorly constructed roster.

Despite their struggles this season, the Lakers are expected to compete for the title next year with James and Anthony Davis leading the way. Los Angeles hopes to have a healthy roster and a good head coach.
