A crowd of Donald Trump supporters repeatedly booed Dr. Mehmet Oz as he arrived at a Friday night rally for the Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate.
The start of the rally in Pennsylvania was moved up to 8 p.m. Several rain-drenched Trump enthusiasts were already making their dislike for the celebrity doctor known before the event started.
A large portion of the crowd booed when a pre recorded message from Oz went on the jumbotron.
When an introductory speaker mentioned endorsing Oz early on, and again when Trumpendorsed the Ohio primary winner, attendees booed his name.
Oz was greeted by a mix of jeers and cheers when he took the stage. There is an error in the text.
Trump endorsed the TV doctor in April after he announced his run as a Republican. He faces a high-profile and close race against David McCormick, a former investment management firm CEO.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Oz registered to vote in Pennsylvania despite living in New Jersey for several years.
Lynn Johnson, a restaurant server from Ligonier, Pennsylvania, told Insider that she wanted someone from Pennsylvania.
Oz has faced scrutiny from Republicans for changing his beliefs on issues like abortion and gun rights.
A school bus driver from Mont Pleasant, Pennsylvania, said she thinks Oz is too Hollywood.
She told Insider that many of the candidates were saying the same thing. Both women are undecided about the race.
Oz was losing an informal straw poll before the event began.
