The UFC stripped Charles Oliveira of his lightweight title after he missed weight on Friday.

The limit for a lightweight title fight is 150 pounds. On Saturday night, only his opponent, Justin Gaethje, is eligible to win the belt because it is now considered vacant. This would have been his second title defense.

The first person to come to the scales was Oliveira. The commissioner shouted out the missed weight. He was given more time to cut the weight, but missed it once again.

Gaethje came in at 155 pounds and is a former interim champion. He tried to get the undisputed crown in 2020. It was the final fight of the man.

The weight of the Strawweight champion was 115 pounds. The first strawweight title fight in UFC history took place in 2014. The initial meeting was won by Esparza. She is a two-time UFC champion with a current three-fight win streak.

The main and co-main events could feature two fan favorites. Both are in need of a win and both looked good as they made weight. Last year, he was close to winning the UFC title, but lost a back-and-forth battle with Oliveira. He lost an instant classic to Gaethje.

Donald Cerrone came in at 155.5 pounds for his bout against Joe Lauzon, who will be making his first appearance since 2019.

The weight limit for the weight is half a pound. She was fined but her fight against Macy is on.

The UFC will be on pay-per-view on Saturday.
