The Philadelphia 76ers star may try to play on Friday despite recent injuries.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, there is optimism that Embiid will attempt to play, but he will need to feel comfortable after getting fitted for a mask.

After initially being listed as out for Game 3 of the series against the Miami Heat, Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice.com said that he was upgraded to doubtful.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Embiid cleared concussion protocol and participated in the shootaround.

In the first-round series against the Toronto Raptors, the Philadelphia 76ers' big man suffered an eye injury and a concussion. It was a blow for the 76ers, who are down 2-0 in their series against the Heat.

The team has struggled to replicate the veteran big man's offensive and defensive success.

In the first round against Toronto, he averaged 26.2 points, 11.3 rebound and 2.3 assists in six games.

The 76ers might be able to turn things around once he returns to the lineup, but losing to Miami on Friday and going down in the series would be too deep a hole to dig out of.
