Doctor Strange is in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is said to be very similar to Sam Raimi's films. Doctor Strange 2 is not being reviewed well in the context of a generally well-reviewed universe, even though reviews are positive and audience scores are high.

Doctor Strange has over 200 reviews in it's database. It's the sixth worst-reviewed movie in the MCU out of 28 movies.

The list is updated with Multiverse of Madness.

  26. The Incredible Hulk – 67%
  27. Thor: The Dark World – 66%
  28. Eternals – 47%

Eternals is one of the only misses in the MCU, and I think it's better than the bottom third of the list. The Doctor Strange scores are a bit of a surprise since the trailers looked so good. It is 12% lower than the original Doctor Strange, and worse-reviewed than the WandaVision Disney Plus series. We already know it's a sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it doesn't seem to be working for many critics.

With more reviews coming in, this could still go up or down. Most audiences rate most of these films higher than the critics, so it's no surprise that the audience scores are 89% so far.

We'll see what the box office does, but it doesn't look like a clear-cut win for the MCU, given the other films it's reviewing alongside, which are not thought of very fondly in the overall MCU.

After this, we move on to the next movie in the series, and I'm pretty sure that it will do better than Strange.
