Zelenskyy has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund Ukraine's war effort against Russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Thursday that Ukraine has started an online site to raise funds for its fight against Russia.

Today, the whole free world got united around Ukraine, countries, companies, international organizations and most importantly, people. Zelenskyy said in a video address that you, too, are among them.

He said that donations could help by protecting troops, saving civilians and rebuilding the country.

Zelenskyy said that all funds donated through the Ukrainian initiative will be sent to the national bank of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader said that the platform would give updates on how the money is used, but he didn't give any details on how the reports would include. The first report will be available on May 12 according to the website.

Zelenskyy said in the video address that he would always remember his contribution to the victory of Ukraine.

In the past, Ukraine has opened a platform for donations. It created a website in March that claims to have raised $60 million so far.

Since the Kremlin authorized a full-scale invasion of the country in February, billions of dollars in infrastructure have been lost.
