Heard took the stand in the defamation suit against her on Thursday and claimed that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor sexually, emotionally and physically abused her during their relationship.
Heard testified at the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse in Fairfax, Virginia.
While crying, Heard recounted a 2015 fight between her and her then-husband in which she claimed he hit her, choked her, threw bottles at her and sexually assault her with a bottle. Heard said that during the 2015 incident, she was threatened with a broken bottle and held up.
After the fight, Heard said she found messages written to her by Depp in his blood.
Heard said that she fought back against him when he hit her, including freezing or threatening to leave, and that he put his hands on her several times.
Heard said that when she had to perform a romantic scene with James Franco, she was accused of cheating on him.
Heard said that the trial was the most difficult thing she had ever gone through.
During his time on the stand, he denied ever abusing Heard and said that he was a victim of domestic violence.
Heard wrote an Op-Ed for the Washington Post in which she described herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse. In 2016 Heard filed a temporary restraining order against him, which he denied, after she accused him of abusing her. Our relationship was passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love, as the couple wrote in a joint statement after their split. Neither party has made false accusations. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Heard filed a countersuit for $100 million. In his testimony, he painted Heard as the one who was in control of the relationship. The actor said that he was using humor in the vein of Monty Python, even though he described his ex-wife as a slippery.
