The former Florida quarterback has a new home.

Jones will transfer to Arizona State, according to a source. Jones started 12 games at Florida last season and entered the transfer portal earlier this spring.

The quarterback room at the Sun Devil is viewed as the weakest in the conference. Jones has two more seasons to play.

Jones completed 64.7% of his passes last season. He had 19 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions.

Jones enters a quarterback race that lacks an established incumbent after Jayden Daniels transferred to LSU less than a month after entering the NCAA transfer portal. Neither of the quarterbacks projected to compete for the starting job has started a college game.

Jones said in December that he would enter the portal after the bowl game. He was going to complete his degree at Florida in the spring. After speaking with the new staff, he decided to not enter the portal and play in the spring ball.

He played in 37 games at Florida. He was a top-60 recruit. He originally committed to Ohio State, but changed his mind on the first day of signing day.

Jones is a big man and brings a dual threat to the position. He rushed for 10 touchdown in his career and averaged 5.4 yards per carry.
