If you believe in social media as an indicator of anything, Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers might be on the path to reconciliation.

One month after he removed the 49ers from his social media page, Samuel is back.

The saga became public on April 7 when Samuel stopped following the team and deleted several posts from his account that included pictures and references to the 49ers.

Samuel told the 49ers he wanted to be traded, according to Jeff Darlington. The star wideout did not give any details about his request.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Samuel was unwilling to accept or engage in any discussion about a new contract from San Francisco because he was not comfortable with the way he was being treated.

There were rumors that opposing teams were interested in acquiring Samuel.

The New York Jets and Detroit Lions made trade offers to San Francisco during the draft, according to Rapoport.

According to The Athletic, New York offered the 10th pick and a fifth-round pick in exchange for Samuel.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on April 30 that there was nothing close to a trade for Samuel.

Samuel is in the final year of his contract. Spotrac says the South Carolina graduate will make $3.99 million in the year 2022.

The 49ers made Samuel the focal point of their offense in the second half of the season. He set career highs with 77 catches and 1,405 receiving yards, and led the league with 18.2 yards per reception.
