Ja Morant scored 47 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 106-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of their second-round series.

The series was tied at one game apiece, and Patrick Beverley, who faced Morant in the first round, shaded the Warriors for allowing the Most Improved Player to put up 50 points.

47 piece 🤦🏾‍♂️ didn’t happen in our series. Just sayin #Facts

The Wolves lost to the Grizzlies in six games, but they kept the star in check. Morant scored 32 points in the first game of the series. He averaged just 21.5 points on 38.6 percent shooting from the floor and 20 percent from deep.

Morant torched the Golden State defense for 34 points in the first game of the playoffs, before he tied a playoff career high by putting up 47 on the Dubs.

During the regular season, the Warriors had the second-best defense. Fans expected the team to limit Morant in the playoffs. When they don't live up to that rep, Beverley won't let them slide.

Game 3 will be in Oakland on Saturday. Time.
