The Colorado Rockies came into last night's game fresh off a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds. The team was looking to pick up where they left off against Washington. The Rockies were favored. They had their ace, Germ, on the mound, and while he had struggled to that point, he was facing a mediocre Nationals lineup that ranked in the middle of MLB in runs per game and OPS. Everyone was feeling good, except for the operator of the stadium's board game. He was battling demons, and just before the first pitch, he offered a heartbreaking piece of advice.

Do you need someone to talk to? If you need to vent, I'm here for you.

The man was clearly going through something. When Pat Benatar's song "Heartbreaker" is on their mind, what person in a sound state of mind would misspell her? The man was crying out for help and threw life advice on the board. Maybe he peeked into a crystal ball earlier that day and knew the Rockies were about to get demolished by the Nationals. If that happened to my favorite team, I would be in a bad state as well.

I had to find him. If not to interview him, ask how his day was. I couldn't say who is currently operating the board. Then, I realized. I spend all my time asking "Who is the scoreboard operator?" and never stop to think about it. I can only ask for forgiveness from the operator.
