Obi-Wan Kenobi
Disney+/Lucasfilm

Happy Star Wars Day! Lucasfilm and Disney+ are celebrating May the 4th with another look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

There is not a lot of new footage in this trailer compared to the first one. There is a conversation between Obi-Wan and Owen Lars about training a Jedi. There is a look at Darth Vader being pieced together, which is more than the brief appearance in the previous trailer.

One of the show's main story threads is reinforced by this clip. The Empire is trying to wipe out the Jedi in order to find Obi-Wan. I wonder how that will go. There is a very brief glimpse of Kumail, whose character is wearing Jedi-style robes, along with several shots of the villains.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will fill in some of the narrative gaps between the original trilogy and the prequels. The first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, has been a hit, but Obi-Wan Kenobi should be an easier sell for Disney+ because of the familiar characters that are front and center. It doesn't need to give away too much before the series starts on May 27th.
