In the first game of the season in Germany, the Seattle Seahawks will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The teams will play at 9:30 a.m. The venue for the event is the home of FCBayern Munich. The dates and opponents for the three games that will be played in London and the game in Mexico City will be revealed on Wednesday.
The first victory outside the United States will be sought by the Buccaneers. They lost to the New England Pats 35-7 in 2009, the Chicago Bears 24-18 in 2011 and the Carolina panthers 37-26 in 2019.
This will be the third international regular-season game in franchise history. They beat the Bills in Toronto and the Raiders in London.
The Seattle Seahawks have a German-born player who was allocated to the team last year as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Donkor is from a small town in the west of Germany and was on Seattle's practice squad. Donkor was granted another roster exemption this week.
The NFL will play four games in Germany over the next four seasons, two in Munich and one in Frankfurt.
There will be three games in London in 2022. The Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints will play their games at different stadiums. The Arizona Cardinals will play in Mexico City.
The team will play an annual home game at Wembley Stadium through the 2024 season, thanks to a three-year contract between the team and the league.
