The second game in this second-round series was marred by the ejection of a starter, as the Memphis Grizzles forward was thrown out less than three minutes into the game for a foul on Gary Payton II.
The Warriors guard was hit in the head with 9:08 left in the first quarter as he was chasing down a fastbreak layup. The man went down hard and stayed down for a while. The play was reviewed by officials.
The Warriors ruled him out for the game after he underwent X-rays on his elbow.
Steve Kerr was angry when the foul happened. Kerr could be heard yelling "Get the f--- out of here" when he was ejected.
Kerr said in an interview that the style of play in the first quarter was dirty.
Warriors power forward Draymond Green, who was ejected in the first game of the series, ended up on the floor in pain after 14 seconds. He left the locker room to be attended to, and on his way to the back there was a commotion as he was seen flipping his middle fingers at the Memphis crowd.
Green returned to the game after getting stitches on his eye.
Kerr and the Warriors were upset when Green was ejected in the first game for a foul on Brandon Clarke that was reviewed. Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr yelled at the officials after Green was ejected.
Green said his ejection was due to his reputation. The Memphis fans were on Green.
