One of the biggest remaining storylines is where Baker Mayfield ends up.

The New York Giants might make sense as a potential destination according to Daniel Jeremiah.

The team didn't pick up the fifth-year option on Daniel Jones' contract. He suggested that you can make a strong case that he can win the job when discussing the incumbent.

The Giants have a first-year head coach in Brian Daboll and a first-year general manager in Joe Schoen.

They are juggling a lot as the franchise looks to change after five straight losing seasons, and a quarterback competition between Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield may not be appealing.

The teams that could use upgrades under center, but chose not to trade for him, were the Giants, Seattle, and Carolina. If they were going to acquire him, it was a good idea to do so since they could get draft capital in return.

According to Russini, the Seahawks have no interest in Baker Mayfield.

She suggested that the Browns want to completely remove the $18.9 million contract that is set to be paid to him in the next two years from their books, and are not interested in splitting the cost with a potential suitor.

That could deter teams from pursuing him since there are health concerns and questions about his performance after he threw for a career-worst 17 touchdown to 13 interception.

The Giants didn't have enough confidence in Jones to pick up his fifth-year option. In the Big Apple, there was only one team with more than nine wins in 2021.

Maybe New York will make a move after other teams didn't.
