The Baker Mayfield saga is not over despite the end of the NFL draft.
Since the Cleveland Browns added Deshaun Watson in March, a split has seemed inevitable, but Baker Mayfield is still a member of the only team he has ever known.
On Tuesday, Russini reported that the Browns are still looking to move his contract.
He will make $18.9 million in the next two years, before he becomes an unrestricted free agent. It's a hefty price to pay for one season of an inconsistent quarterback, and Cleveland wants to get rid of it in a potential trade.
Russini said that the Cleveland Browns don't want to pay for that contract. They want nothing to do with that deal, the last I checked, which was about a week-and-a-half ago. If you want Baker, you will have to pay that money. Cleveland won't try to split it up with you.
The Seattle Seahawks were rumored to be a possible landing spot for Mayfield, but they no longer seem like a good fit.
Russini said that the Seahawks have no interest in Baker Mayfield. That is their choice.

He was part of the Wilson trade and they are willing to see if he can turn things around.
Finding a trade partner for Mayfield may be difficult if the Browns don't want to split the contract.
