He joined the Big 12 as an official in 2015, and is set to become the first official in the history of the league to play in the NFL.

Mike Morton played in the NFL from 1995 to 2001 and is one of the notable additions to the officials. The former LB played in 103 regular-season games for the Raiders, Rams, Packers, and Colts.

The 50-year-old will now work as an umpire, becoming the third former player to become a game official.

The third woman to work as an NFL game official after coming over from the Big Ten will be Robin DeLorenzo.
