The plot looks pretty straightforward, a kind of Secret Life of Pets, and it's playing to children who never grew out of Paw Patrol. It's sweet, cute, and with a lot of jokes that feel right for its audience. The director has a lot to work with since this is his directorial debut.
Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski,Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, and even Ben Schwartz are all in the trailer for the movie. It's hard to imagine the amount of money involved in getting a slate of A-list actors on board, but I can imagine that the budget was taken from the animation department. DC is banking on parents coming to the theater. Who am I to judge this film if turtles and squirrels are entertaining kids for 90 minutes?
John Wittington also wrote the screenplay. The music for the DC League of Super-Pets will be scored by Steve Jablonsky.
