  • There is a door that leads to a rock cave in the home that is listed for $297,000.

  • The three-bedroom house was featured on a social-media account.

  • The seller built the house with his wife's remains, according to the listing agent.

A wooden door in a Pennsylvania home doesn't lead to a guest bedroom, wine cellar, or furnished basement. The door opens into a cave. It is currently on the market for $297,000.

Natalia Latsios told Insider that she brushed off the cave when she first heard about the home. She said she saw it for herself.

She said that the cave was almost 40 feet long.

The seller rebuilt most of the home with his late wife. Four boys were raised in the house by the couple.

Latsios said the cave used to connect to tunnels that ran under the town.

It was rumored that it was once part of the Underground Railroad or a bomb shelter.

Karen Baker Sullivan, who is on the board of the Marietta Community House, told Lancaster Online that any stories are not true.

Outside of the home, there are two additional floors. Latsios said you will find a mix of eclectic and modern styles in the house. People enter the house through the kitchen. The entrance to the cave is located in the living room. The primary bedroom has a marble bathroom and a balcony.

Latsios said that it was difficult to price the home. She said that homes can range from new townhomes that start at $150,000 to larger, historical homes that sell for $500,000 or more.

Latsios said they landed on a price in the middle and are expecting an offer after the home received interest over the weekend.

The house was featured in a set of popular social-media accounts that highlight unusual properties listed on the real-estate site.

A post about the cave house had close to 39,000 likes as of Tuesday.

The post featuring the home had more than 7,000 likes and 3,100 shares on Facebook, where the account has 845,000 followers.

Users joked about the home's cave in the comment sections.

One person wrote, "I like how they put those pics in the middle, then continue with the rest of the home tour like they didn't just show an absolute dungeon hidden behind that door."

If they want to sell it, they should advertise it as a time-out room, which will make your children listen.

Latsios said that it was not a space for everyone.
