A new video on Chinese social media shows workers in full protection gear unloading a yellow body bag from the back of a hearse, only to discover that the person was still alive.

The nursing home resident's head poking out of the bag was caught on camera and went viral.

A voice in the video says that the nursing home is a mess. The staff at the undertaker said they were still moving.

It is not known if the person in the body bag had been exposed to COVID-19.

According to CNN, local authorities are investigating. The head of the nursing home and three officials have been fired.

It is the latest sign that the residents of Shanghai are going through a difficult time. The city has been plunged into chaos due to the latest outbreak of COVID, with government services and supply lines crumbling under the pressure of China's strict policy.

Local residents are struggling to buy food and are being forced to stay inside their homes for extended periods of time as a result of the city being locked down.

There have been reports of sick residents unable to access basic healthcare due to the logistical nightmare unfolding in the city of over 26 million people.

Many residents have voiced their anger and discontent online, finding new ways to sidestep China's censors.

The former editor-in-chief of the state-owned Global Times newspaper argued on his personal Weibo account that the epidemic has nothing to do with it.
