Chelsea sale in doubt as Roman Abramovich attempts to restructure deal to regain his £1.5billion loan

The sale of the club has been thrown into doubt because of disagreements about what will happen to the money.

The UK government won't allow the sale of Chelsea unless it's certain RomanAbramovich won't get any of the money.

Two months ago, when he put the club up for sale, Abramovich said he wouldn't be asking for his loans to be repaid and that the money would go to the victims of the war in Ukraine.

On March 10, the government banned him from doing business in the UK.

The Raine Group, an investment bank appointed byAbramovich, is conducting the sale of the club.

The government is aware of attempts to restructure any potential deal in a way that would see the club's owner, Roman Abramovich, get a large sum of money.

The government would not issue a license for the sale of the club if it were to be used to pay back the loans that were taken out by the club.

Unless the club is sold or the license is extended, they will be out of business on May 31st.

The new season will begin on June 8.
