A lot of people are paying for Paramount+ to watch Star Trek: Picard even if it's not great. In the first quarter of 2022, Paramount Global added 6.8 million new subscribers. The platform has almost 40 million customers. The company credited its original programming with the continued growth of Paramount+.

In the first quarter of the year, revenue from the service grew by almost 150 percent and the company's bottom line grew by almost 50 percent.

It is notable that Paramount's success is noteworthy. In the first quarter of 2022, the streaming giant lost 200,000 customers, marking the first subscriber drop in a decade. The editorial staff of Tudum's fansite has been gutted, as the company has embarked on a series of cost-cutting measures.
