Another twist took place Tuesday in the most riveting drama of college football's off-season. According to sources, Jordan Addison is expected to appear in the NCAA transfer portal Tuesday afternoon.

He will appear in the portal later Tuesday after he filed his paperwork to Pittsburgh, which happened before the May 1 deadline.

One of the top returning players in college football is Addison, who won the Biletnikoff Award for the top receiver in the sport last year. There will be a lot of interest in his services, as there are few more established players in the country.

The expectation is that after his name is in the portal, he will run a formal process. There is no expectation of an imminent decision as he has yet to make up his mind on a destination.

A return to Pittsburgh is a very viable option according to the person.

The expectation is that this will not be a name, image and likeness bidding war, but a way to make sure that Addison is best for the NFL. Every powerhouse in the country will be a suitor.

According to a source, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi called USC coach Lincoln Riley multiple times to express his displeasure over the transfer of Addison. Pitt officials suspect that something might have happened.

There was a Sunday deadline to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The last day for Pitt officials to put the name in the portal was Tuesday.

There is a divisive and important issue regarding college football. One of the most established players in the country could test his value on the open market. Last season, he caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdown catches. He finished with more than 100 targets.

Pitt will have a new quarterback in 2022. Kenny Pickett was the 20th pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There is a sense that the transfer of one of the sport's most established players could cause enough ripples that the powers that be might consider an adjustment to the new rules.

It is not known if USC or other schools have tampered with Addison, but the situation has turned into a national talking point on how the rules should be structured in the new era.

There is no need for him to make an immediate decision now that he has entered the portal. Depending on where he goes, he is likely to enroll in summer school.
