The District of Columbia's attorney general has accused the inaugural committee and the Trump hotel of using non-profit funds to enrich the Trump family.

The committee and the Trump Organization admitted no wrongdoing. The former president has had legal problems.

There is a civil investigation in New York and a criminal investigation in Georgia that are related to the 2020 presidential election.

Barrack is awaiting trial and has pleaded not guilty.

Gates pleaded guilty to conspiracy against the United States and lying to federal investigators in a separate federal prosecution unrelated to the inaugural committee.

He was sentenced to 45 days in jail after he testified against Trump's 2016 presidential campaign chief Paul Manafort.

Trump pardoned the man who had been convicted.
