The Cincinnati Bengals are aware of the chatter that their Super Bowl run was a flop.

The team is looking to prove to skeptics that it is a legitimate contender, according to Mike Hilton. He believes that people think the Bengals are a one-hit wonder.

You know, when you think of the Bengals, you are like, "Oh, the Bengals, you know?" We are turning this organization around with this group of guys and the coaches that we have. We are just trying to get the respect we deserve.

Before last season, the Bengals hadn't made the playoffs since 2015, won a playoff game in 1991 and hadn't played in the Super Bowl since 1989. Cincinnati ended all those droughts after being the worst team in the league.

The Lamar Hunt Trophy was won by the Cincinnati Reds after they defeated the Kansas City Royals.

When asked if the chatter created anger or put a chip on the shoulder, Hilton said that people still didn't believe it throughout the playoffs. They said we were lucky.

In the first team meeting of the off-season, Taylor told the team that all of their goals are still reachable despite the Super Bowl loss. The Bengals signed three free agents to be starters on their offensive line.

Simmons said the message was well received by the team, which is aware that reaching the Super Bowl last season doesn't include guarantees of returning there.

Simmons said that the roster is completely different than last year. Everything is the same as it was a year ago.

The oddsmakers think that the Bengals are not favorites to win another title. The Cleveland Browns have the best odds of winning the AFC North, while the Cincinnati Bengals have the worst odds of winning the Super Bowl.

Despite the odds and skepticism, the team is confident and made acquisitions to improve the chances of repeating as AFC champion and proving that 2021.

When people call it a mistake, we just smile and take it.
