Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire teases electric motorcycle launch for next week

The Del Mar is an all-electric motorcycle that will be launched next week. LiveWire has also released a short trailer, which shows the rear of the bike at the 0:06 mark, as well as announcing the date.

The Del Mar is expected to be a more accessible motorcycle in the company's lineup. The Del Mar will be built around LiveWire's Arrow platform, which includes a battery pack, electronics, and motor, in a single unit that the company can then build various bikes around. The Del Mar is expected to use the S2 version of the platform. Arrow is expected to include a lightweight S3 and S4 design in the future.

LiveWire is in the process of going public. In December of last year, Harley- Davidson announced that it would be merging with LiveWire, AEA-Bridges Impact Corporation, and a Taiwan-based scooter manufacturer. The merger is on track to close in mid-2022, according to Harley-Davidson.
